Stonewall Ponders

President/Owner

Stonewall “Stoney” Ponders has been in the funeral service industry since 1982 and has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer since 1985; just recently, Stoney obtained his Funeral Directors and Embalmer license in Florida and Tennessee. He’s a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, where he was class Vice President, as well as Chaplain of Pi Sigma Eta Fraternity. Stoney decided at a very young age that he wanted to be a funeral director and has dedicated himself to funeral service ever since. As the Founder and Owner of Ponders Funeral Homes, Stoney is honored and proud to work alongside his nephew.

Jason Gibson

Funeral Director/Embalmer

Jason Gibson is the nephew of Stoney Ponders and has been a member of the Ponders Funeral Home staff since it opened in 1992. Jason is a graduate of the Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. Following in the footsteps of his uncle, Jason has dedicated his life to the funeral service industry. As a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Jason feels privileged to be able to serve the families that place their trust in Ponders Funeral Homes.
