Mrs. Wilma Jean Beam Bramblett, age 84, of Resaca, departed this life Monday morning, May 11, 2026, at AdventHealth Gordon in Calhoun.
Wilma was born December 10, 1941, in Murray County, a daughter of the late Mose Prince A. Beam and Ada Elmira Emberson Beam. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larthen S. “Duke” Bramblett; daughter, Debra Lynn “Debbie” Baggett Ray; grandson, Stephen Baggett; sister, Dorothy Beam; brothers, Roy Beam, Marvin and Ruby Beam, and Raymond Beam; sister-in-law, Betty Beam; former sons-in-law, Larry Gravitt and Randy Baggett; former granddaughter-in-law, Holly Ledford; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Floyd and Elizabeth Bramblett; and her dear aunt, Clara Beam Holloway.
Mrs. Bramblett was the definition of a hardworking and selfless woman. She devoted more than thirty years of faithful service to Coronett Industries, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. Above all, Wilma loved her family deeply and spent her life caring for others.
Thirty years ago, her youngest son, Lane, was involved in a tragic automobile accident that left him partially paralyzed and suffering from a traumatic brain injury. From that day forward, Wilma became his full-time caregiver, faithfully caring for him day and night for the past three decades. She carried this responsibility with unwavering love, strength, and grace, never complaining and always putting the needs of others before her own. Even while facing life’s hardships, Wilma remained compassionate and willing to help anyone in need. Her life was a true example of unconditional love, sacrifice, and devotion to family.
She is survived by her children, Ruthelle Gravitt, Amorita Etheridge, Samuel Prince and Irene Bramblett, and Lane Bramblett; grandchildren, Matthew Baggett, Derek Ray, Christina Sue Cansler and Allen Murray, Corey and Michelle Ledford, Robert Etheridge, Chene’ Etheridge, Jessica and Eric Sills, Brittany Gravitt and Eric Chaney, and Shane Holloway; great-grandchildren, Chaise Holloway and Drew Parrott, Grayson Dean Sills, Bradley Harrison Sills, Juniper Eden Sills, Holden Thomas Gravitt, Korben James Gravitt, Archer Raymond Gravitt, and Skylar Ledford; former son-in-law, Barry Etheridge; sisters, Irene and Buddy Gibson, and Pauline and Steve Witherow; brothers, Charlie “Bud” Beam and Claude Beam; sister-in-law, Evelene Shugart; special friends, Wendell and Phyllis Brackett; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wilma Jean Beam Bramblett will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with her nephew, Reverend Alan Gibson, and former son-in-law, Reverend Barry Etheridge officiating. She will be laid to rest with her family at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum with Corey Ledford, Derek Ray, Shane Holloway, Darren Gilbert, Eric Sills, and Chaise Holloway honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
