Mr. Wayne Harris, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday afternoon, April 20, 2026 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Wayne was born August 8, 1946, in Tracy City, Tennessee, son of the late Howard Stanley Harris, and Rebha Rust Boudin and step-father, Charlie Boudin. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mamie Loudine “Penny” Berry Harris, who died December 4, 2021, and his sisters, Dorothy Harris, and Sharon Taylor.

He survived by his niece, Zae (Kevin) Barnes of Clarksville, TN; sister, Brenda Walker of Monteagle, TN; brother-in-law, Franklin E. Berry of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Wayne Harris will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Eugene Miller officiating. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Penny Harris at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, with his friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 12:00 p.m. noon Saturday until the service hour.
