Mr. Merle Edward Bolton, age 66, of Tunnel Hill Ga, departed this life Sunday, June 7, 2026, at his residence. He was born August 12, 1959 in London, Kentucky, a son of the late Otis and Anna Marie Thomas Bolton, sisters Irene Asher, Ruth Carroll, Shelia McGill, Janet Eulene Asher, brother William Johns.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Geneva Bolton of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, Preston Bolton of Tunnel Hill, GA, Merle Bolton II and Corrie Bolton of Virginia; daughters, Natasha Burke of Tunnel Hill, GA, Heather Denice Bolton of Missouri, Felicia and Thomas Knowles of Milledgeville, GA; brothers, Charles Bolton of Indiana, Donald Bolton of Tunnel Hill, GA, Wayne Johns of Dalton, GA; sisters, Mary Sizemore of Kentucky, Louise Dixon of Indiana, Delia Morrison, of Chatsworth, GA,; fourteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Merle Edward Bolton will be held Wednesday June 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Adam Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Preston Bolton, Merle Bolton II, Jerry Bolton, Dewayne Asher, Jadin Ridley, Chris Wynn and Greg Wynn serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 16, 2026.
