Mrs. Linda “Kay” Coker, age 78, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life Monday evening, August 24, 2026, at Hamiliton Medical Center. She was born May 28, 1948 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Lewis Edwrd Hicks Sr. and Frances Cochran Serritt.

She was also preceded in death by her husband David E. Coker, son Chris Coker, daughter Jennifer Rogers, grandson Ethan Coker, brothers Buddy Hicks, Jimmy Hicks, sister Mary Land.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Coker of Dalton, GA, Andy & Jessica Coker of Rocky Face, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Carol Hicks of Rocky Face, GA; son-in-law Allen Rogers; grandchildren, Matt Rogers, Kaylee Rogers, Caden Coker, Connor Coker, Drew Coker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Connie Coker, Charles Coker, Marcelle White, Larry and Sue Coker, Johnny and Loretta Coker, Brenda and Joel Sullivan, Nancy and Phillip Raikes, Elaine and Phil Cheatham, Darlene Higgins, Cyndie Coker, Tammy Coker Collins; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Linda Kay Coker will be held Friday August 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Tony Hyatt and Reverend Gene Voss officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Caden Coker, Connor Coker, Drew Coker, Matt Rogers, Derek Hicks and Ryan Goins serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
