Mr. Jorge Rodriguez, age 70, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Jorge was born on August 3, 1955, in La Soledad, Michoacán, Mexico, to the late Luis Rodriguez and Amparo Osegueda Rodriguez. He grew up in the community he loved dearly and carried a deep appreciation for his hometown throughout his life.

Jorge met the love of his life, Josefina Rodriguez Quintero, in his hometown and together they shared 47 years of marriage, building a loving home and raising a devoted family. They later moved to Illinois whereas a hardworking and determined man, Jorge became a welder and took great pride in providing for his family. Through his example, he instilled the values of dedication, perseverance, and strong work ethic in his daughters and grandchildren.

Jorge enjoyed many interests throughout his life, including agriculture, baseball, and soccer. He especially looked forward to watching horse races on the weekends. Above all else, however, he treasured the time spent with his family, particularly his beloved grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.

In addition to his parents, Jorge was preceded in death by his father, Luis Rodriguez, and mother, Amparo Osegueda Rodriguez.

He is survived by his loving wife, Josefina Rodriguez Quintero; daughters and son-in-law, Georgina and David Mendez of Illinois, Verenice Rodriguez of Dalton, Georgia, Lupita Rodriguez of Dalton, Georgia, Diana and Michael Mondragon of Dalton, Georgia, and Maria Rodriguez of Dalton, Georgia; brother, Jesus Rodriguez, sisters, Edubijes Martinez, Carmen Cervantez, and Librada Rodriguez, and his cherished grandchildren, Saray Mendez, David Mendez, Allie Mondragon, and Aaron Mondragon. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Jorge Rodriguez will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Dan Padilla officiating. Interment will follow at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Park and Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, and on Friday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.

Jorge will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong work ethic, and the kindness and dedication he shared with those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
