Joanne Shepherd, age 83, of Rocky Face, passed away Monday, September 28, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Omagene King; daughter, Alicia Susanne Shepherd.

Joanne was a faithful member of Central Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Larry Shepherd; daughters and sons-in-law, Chrissie and Chris Smith of Tunnel Hill, Jade and Oliver Rhudy of Ringgold; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Alyssa Shepherd of Ringgold; brother and sister-in-law, Kimbrell and Jackie King of Dalton; grandchildren, Caleb Smith, Carson and Hallie Smith, Griffin Rhudy, Garrison Rhudy, Avery and Noah Watts, Noah Earnest.

The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to caregivers, Kaleigh Holland, Stacy Rogers and Tapestry Hospice nurses, Karen Fleenor and Kara Wilson.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, 11:00 AM, at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Brother Steve Griggs, Brother Ross Jordan and Brother Shane Robinson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
