Mr. James P. Davis, age 85, of Chatsworth, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

James served in the United States Army. He retired from Tenney Contracting after working there for 30 plus years. He was an avid hunter and fisher. James loved being on Lake Chatuge where he camped for 40 plus years and was well loved in the community, even having a pavilion named after him. He was greatly loved and will be missed tremendously by everyone that got the pleasure to meet him.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Lottie Davis; former wives, Sandra Davis and Anna Knight; granddaughter, Amanda Hardin; grandson, Matt Townsend; 7 siblings.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kimberly Davis of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, James Davis, Jr. and Anna Davis of Cleveland, TN and Jacob and Allie Southern of Chatsworth; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Johnny Fowler of Chatsworth, Dawn Orear of Chatsworth, Tina and Merle Reed of Chatsworth; Danee and Brian Paulk of Chatsworth, Melanie Brewer and Cody Dills of Crandall, GA, Amberly and Ruben Barnes of Crandall, GA, Kayla Southern of Murfreesboro, TN, Gabriela and Leon Pritchett of Hinesville, GA, and Elizabeth Saldivar and Casey Thomason of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Melissa Mercado, Roxanna Beavers (Aaron), Brandyn Parker (Jason), Victoria Sanford (Josh), Cassandra Hardin (Shaun), Kenny Townsend, Travis Ridley, Michael Ridley, Kymberly Ridley (Victor), Kaydence Barnes, Chloe Barnes, Kaira Barnes, Kaecyn Barnes, Karleigh Laster, Angel Vazquez, Remyngtenn Pritchett, Cohen Pritchett, Abagail Thomason, Alex Thomason, Fynnleigh Thomason, and Harper Jo Thomason; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; extended family also survives.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. James P. Davis will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Mchan officiating. Interment will follow on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
