Mr. Harris Lee “Bud” Thomason, age 78, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 8, 1947, in Ranger, Georgia a son of the late Leonard “Skinny” and Agnes “Lucy” Thomason. He was also preceded in death by his wife Delores Ann Smith Thomason, brother and sister-in-law William “Bill” and Caroline Thomason, sister Patricia Ann “Pat” Thomason. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He retired from Beaulieu “Coronet Carpet” after 47 years.He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Gibson; Dia and Brian Curtis; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Liana Thomason; grandchildren, Kiya and Dustin Cochran, Dustin and Kassie Gibson, Abigail Curtis and Gage Sheram, Morgan Gibson all of Chatsworth, GA; father-in-law, Ramond Smith of Dalton, GA; aunts and uncles, Sue Benton of Calhoun, GA, Gladys Ingle of Dalton, GA, Burton Walraven, Gene Thomason of Chatsworth, GA; special cousin Harrison Parker of Chatsworth, GA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and his Big V family.Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Harris Lee “Bud” Thomason will be held Wednesday March 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Gene Thomason and Brother David White officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens with Dustin Gibson, Joey Thomason, Dustin Cochran, Gage Sheram, Tyson McClure, and Jordan McClure serving as pallbearers. The American Legion Post 112 will be in charge of Military Honors.
