Mr. Glenn Harrison Flood, age 76, of Chatsworth, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Glenn was born on July 20, 1949, in Dalton, GA to the late John Harrison Flood, Jr. and the late Ruby Jewell Carroll Flood.
He was a well-known businessman and entrepreneur; owning Flood’s Auto Parts & Wrecker Service, Flood’s Tire Store, Flood’s Cleaning Service, and a part ownership of Spring Lakes Golf Club. Through his businesses, he built lifelong friendships and earned the respect of many throughout the years.
Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army, including service during the Vietnam War. He also shared a lifelong bond with his Vietnam Buddy, Charles Seay, a friendship he cherished deeply.
He enjoyed playing golf with his golfing buddies at the golf club. Through the years, he touched the lives of many people and leaves behind countless memories that will forever be cherished.
Above all, Glenn was a devoted husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend who loved his family deeply and treasured every moment spent with them. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, sense of humor, faith, and generosity.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the MICU staff at Hamilton Medical Center and the Hamilton Hospice team for the compassion, care, and kindness shown to Glenn and his family during such a difficult time. “Your support and dedication will never be forgotten.” The family also thanks everyone for the prayers, love, and support shown throughout his illness and passing. “Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through his family, friends, businesses, and the many memories shared by those who loved him.”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Diane Chadwick-Flood; and his sister, Joyce Ann Vinyard.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Flood-Pinson (Allen), Regina Flood Carroll (David), and Kimberly Belk (Ryan); his grandchildren, Justin Seigler (Samantha), Zach Manning (Whitney), Brody Burkett, Gracie Owens (Caleb), Emery Belk, Liam Belk, Kaelynn Flood, and AJ Pinson; his great-grandchildren, Waylon Manning, Dansby Seigler, Krew Burkett, and Saylor Burkett; his sister and brothers-in-law, Rita Flood Hammontree-West (Dan) and Alan Vinyard; 3 very special nephews, Billy Vinyard, Johnny Stover (Katrina), and Adam Stover (Kendra); his special friend, Charles Seay; many great nieces, great nephews, other extended family members, and dear friends also survive.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Glenn Harrison Flood will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. David Flood and Rev. John Waters officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Glenn Harrison Flood.
