Eddie Joe Killion's Obituary

Mr. Eddie Killion, age 72 of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Killion and Nellie Larmon; his brother James L. Killion; his sisters Margaret Beavers and Rose Mullins.

Eddie Joe Killion was a devoted husband, father, Pop and Pastor as well as a faithful servant of God. He Pastored Ridge Road Baptist Church for over 20 years as well as played a major role in establishing Hillview Baptist Church and Abundant Life Baptist Church. He served in his workplace at J & J Industries for over 25 years. He loved traveling with his beloved wife and spending time with family including fishing with his kids and grandkids. He had a servant's heart for giving and meeting the needs of the many people he encountered in life. He brought joy to all of those who met him with his sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Nadu Killion; his children, Joseph Killion, Joshua Killion (Thu), Tabitha Dorcas Swinney (Aaron), Jeremiah Killion, Hannah Ellis, Anna Abigail Honeycutt (Ricky), Andrew Killion-Reyes (Milton), Lydia Moss (Billy) and Benjamin Killion (Marileth); his grandchildren, Jay Killion, Alicia Kinsey (Corbin), Matt Killion, Mallory Kominczak (Noah), Ariana Smith (T.J.), Lillian Swinney, Eli Swinney, Dakota Holcomb, Jonathon Killion, Bryson Ellis, Baylee Sales, Brooks Honeycutt, Lucas Honeycutt, Layla Sales, Kevin Killion-Reyes, Madalyn Moss, Maverick Moss, Marleigh Moss and Maxton Moss; and several great grandchildren; sister, Brenda Faye (McClure) Killion (Larry); brothers, Johnny Killion (Kim) and Ray Lynn Kilion. A special mention to his granddog, Ivy Belle and his cat, Lucy.

Eddie will be remembered as a man who cherished his family and loved the Lord with all his heart. His legacy lives on in the lives of all those he met.

In lieu of flowers, Eddie would love for you to spend time with your family and wants to see you in heaven.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Eddie Killion will be held Thursday afternoon, April 9, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Aaron Swinney officiating and special words by Joe Killion. He will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Ben Killion, Bryson Ellis, Jonathan Killion, Billy Moss, Ray Lynn Killion, and Dewayne Miller honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 2:00 p.m. Thursday until the service hour.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ponders Melrose Chapel, Dalton, Georgia.
