Mary Doris Dean, age 89, of Dalton, passed away August 3, 2026.She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Dean, parents, Henry and Eunice Parks. Fondly known to her friends and family as Doris, she was a cherished mother and grandmother. She loved read, draw, and spend time in God’s word. More than anything, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family is so thankful for the legacy of strength that she has left behind. She was bold, strong, and loved her family fiercely. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and June Dean of Dalton, Mark and Tonya Dean of Dalton; brother, Henry Parks, Jr. of Dalton; grandchildren, Joshua (Vanessa) Dean, Rebekah (Nathaniel) Conner, Alex Dean, Sydney Dean, Bailie Dean; great grandchildren, Addison, Cason, and Jordyn Conner, Gideon, Lazarus and Calliope Dean. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.A graveside service will be held at Whitfield Memorial Gardens in Dalton on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Owens officiating. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Dean requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
