David Lamar Gribble, age 78, of Chatsworth, passed away at his residence on April 29, 2026. David worked for Shaw Industries for 42 years. He was a member of The Healing Center Church, American Legion Post 167, and Dalton Elks Lodge. He enjoyed watching Hummingbirds and, NASCAR and going on Cruises.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Opal Stinson Gribble; brothers, Donald, Harold, Paul, Kenneth, Richard, Ray, and Cecil Gribble; and sisters Beatrice Davis and Jean Bishop.
He is survived by his loving wife Judy Banks Gribble; daughter, Ashley Gribble; granddaughter, Scarlett Pearl Grace Cusick; bonus family, Adam and Julie Cusick and Bryson; sister Brenda West; several nieces and nephews, and cousins also survive.
A service to honor the life of David Lamar Gribble will be at 2 p.m. On Friday, May 1, 2026, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, with Adam Cusick speaking and Pastor Steve French officiating, with military honors being performed by American Legion Post 167. The Interment will be in the Murray Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral Home on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
