Brenda Horne Long, age 74, of Dalton, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026, at her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Sue Horne; and sister, Carolyn Davis.

Brenda was a member of River Community Church, where she loved to worship her Lord and Savior. She dearly loved her family and cherished every opportunity to be together with them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmommy, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed shopping with her friends, decorating, Georgia Tech football games, and making memories with her family at the lake.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Hal Long; sons and daughters-in-law, Zac Long of Dalton, Jason and Margaret Long of Atlanta, and her granddaughter, Alice Long; sisters, Lisa Hullender and Teresa Lowery; brother-in-law, Harry Davis; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dianne and Barry Minter; several loving nieces and nephews also survive. A special thanks to Mrs. Long’s caregivers: Cathy Stafford, Angie Lindsay, and Kelly Cochran.

A funeral service will be held at River Community Church on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Brian Clark and Rev. Tommy Willingham officiating.

The family will receive friends at River Community Church on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 2:00 PM.

Burial will be held in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to River Community Church in Brenda’s honor.
